Administration - enteral tubes
1st choice - Give by intravenous infusion.

2nd choice - Use the suspension or the dispersible tablets.104 The dispersible tablets should be dispersed in at least 50mL of water prior to administration.238 The suspension contains sorbitol.239,240 For dispersible tablets, click here for further information. Clinical guidance
Aciclovir is absorbed in the upper gastrointestinal tract, therefore there may be a risk of reduced absorption when the drug is given through an enteral feeding tube terminating in the jejunum.395 Consider using doses at the higher end of the dosage range, and monitor the patient for clinical effect.
