Injection.

Administration - enteral tubes
1st choice - Give by parenteral injection if appropriate.

2nd choice - The standard tablets disperse with a fine sediment.7,40,41 They disperse in one to five minutes.8,154 Click here for further information. Rinse equipment well to ensure the whole dose is given.

3rd choice - A suspension can be made by Pharmacy in some centres.38,155,451 Click here for further information.

4th choice - The injection can be reconstituted with water and used enterally.40,104,138,152 Click here for further information.

The slow-release capsules are generally not considered suitable for use, although in some centres they have been opened and the contents flushed down enteral feeding tubes.133 Contact Pharmacy for advice.
